Kent joined the Templeman LLP team as a summer student in 2017 and, after articling with the firm, became an Associate Lawyer in June 2019. Kent is a member of the Templeman Labour & Employment group, and also provides support to the firm’s Commercial and Civil Litigation practices. Kent focuses on assisting businesses with a wide variety of HR, employment, labour relations, and litigation matters throughout Eastern Ontario and the GTA. Kent’s practice is geared towards adding value to his clients’ businesses by providing efficient, practical, and cost-effective advice for simple and complex workplace matters. Kent has experience assisting clients in Court proceedings before the Ontario Small Claims Court, Superior Court of Justice, and Divisional Court, as well as in administrative proceedings before the Ontario Labour Relations Board and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.
After completing a Bachelor of Music degree studying classical guitar, Kent attended law school at Queen’s University where he was involved with the Career Development Office, assisting law firms and law students with the recruitment process. In law school, Kent also obtained practical experience volunteering with the Queen’s Business Law Clinic and completing internships with the Queen’s Prison Law Clinic and the Department of Justice of Canada.
Kent is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Ontario and Canadian Bar Associations. He is also an active member of the Frontenac Law Association, having acted as the Queen’s Law Student Society liaison and the co-chair of the Young Lawyer’s Group.
